The current iteration of Donten was born out of my desire to create something more intimate than an Enthusiast-generated list of links: I wanted my fanlisting collective to exist as a love letter to all the different subjects I've felt so passionate about throughout the years. Many of these fanlistings are a product of their time: something that was important to me at that point in my life, and I think to be able to share anecdotes and stories about things that I experienced regarding these subjects will help show why I bother to "crown" the things I love with something silly like a fanlisting. My hope is that Donten itself will shine and house content that is personal and delves into what these subjects really mean to me (as well as ensure that I'll always be applying for fanlistings that aren't simply an impulse application)! After all, often times we visit fanlisting collectives to get a better idea of the person behind the website—why not elaborate on that?Donten Statistics

Totally arbitrary stats I gathered while working on this... guess you could say I have a "type".
I will say that in the process of writing what ended up being 24 essays upon launch, I struggled a lot. I actually closed a number of fanlistings that I didn't think "lived up to the concept" (and applied for a few in the process, too, the masochism is real). You would think that writing about the things you love and why you love them would be pretty simple, but it was much more difficult than I thought it'd be! It was a lot of hard work that I don't regret, and I definitely think some pages are more paramount than others. (Not all romances are created equally!) I relived a lot of really amazing "fandom" moments working on this, and I'm really happy to finally put this online. Having a collective like this is something I've been wanting for a long time!
